I will open a PR with issue templates for the .NET repo for you to review.
I’d propose we add the platform question to the issue template and see how it goes. I am not sure whether essential info about the issue should we in the label, because historically we see that managing labels consistently can be a challenge, because it is purely administrative work that doesn’t help with solving the issue.
The challenge I see with platform labels specifically is that it requires a technical assessment and investigation to know which platforms are affected. If the platform label is assigned early in the process it Is more likely to be incorrect, if it is assigned way into the investigation the label may not be updated and be incorrect as well. Therefore I personally would not trust these platform labels in general.
I agree, it’s hard to establish an argument in favor of platform labels so far. I suggest until we can do that, we add it to the issue template and see how it goes. We can add them later on once we can determine their advantage.
